Lighthouse is now officially registered as a nonprofit corporation under the name Lighthouse Minecraft Ministry in the state of Colorado.
What started as a small community has taken a real step forward to being something bigger. This isn’t just a Discord server or a Minecraft world anymore—it’s something we’re building to last.
Why This Matters
When I helped Lectric rebuild Lighthouse a few years back we had a community meeting where we talked about what we wanted Lighthouse to be in the future we wanted it to grow beyond what it was. We wanted it to have a mission to help people who at first are just looking for a fun and safe Minecraft community to play in, but who really need to get to know the Lord better.
This step gives Lighthouse a real foundation.
It allows us to lead more intentionally, handle finances responsibly, and build with the future in mind—not just reacting week to week, so we can reach those people who God brings to our community.
But just as important, it strengthens one of our core priorities: keeping Lighthouse a safe place for our community members.
With this new structure, we’re able to begin pursuing background checks for our Officer team. That’s something we’ve wanted to do for a long time, especially as we continue to grow and serve more families.
It’s a practical step toward building trust—with both our community, parents, and those outside our community who are asking questions about which communities they allow their kids to participate with.
What This Does Not Mean (Yet)
We are not a 501(c)(3) at this time.
That may come later, but it’s a separate process and one we want to approach carefully and wisely. This step simply gets us on the right path.
What This Means for You
Honestly? Not much changes in your day-to-day interactions with Lighthouse.
You’ll still be playing, building, chatting, and hanging out like always.
But behind the scenes, this helps us:
- Plan further ahead
- Make better decisions
- Continue building Lighthouse into something strong, stable, and worth being part of
Help Us Take the Next Step
Becoming an official nonprofit is a big milestone—but it also comes with real costs.
Things like background checks, registration fees, website infrastructure, and of course the Minecraft server itself are all supported by you, the community, through your donations.
If Lighthouse has been a place that’s meant something to you, or you believe in what we’re building here, we’d ask you to consider supporting us.
Every bit helps us continue moving forward.
Thank You
Seriously—thank you.
Lighthouse exists because people showed up, invested time, and chose to be part of something bigger than themselves.
This is a big step… but it’s not the last step. We’re building something that lasts. Come be a part of that!
