Lighthouse Updates

Last night we had one of our regular Lighthouse Town Hall Meetings.

These meetings aren’t just about updates—they’re a chance for us to pause for a bit and ask a simple question:

Where are we going, and what are we building together?

Over the past few months, we made a pretty intentional shift.

We pulled back on a lot of extra activities that we were doing and focused more on the core of what Lighthouse is meant to be—Bible study, prayer, and building real relationships.

Some of you probably felt that. Fewer events, a little quieter in certain areas. That wasn’t accidental.

We were working on strengthening the foundation.

Behind the scenes, we’ve also been working on improving leadership—making sure Lighthouse responsibilities were being done by the right people.

And at the same time, we’ve been building out the website and systems that are going to support Lighthouse long-term.

We met with the board again recently, and they said we did an "Excellent Job" on building up that foundation.

So what’s next?

This next season really comes down to three things.

First, getting everyone connected through the website.

Right now, the Lighthouse community lives across Discord, and multiple Minecraft alt accounts.

The new website features allows us to bring all of that together. It gives us a way to stay connected as a community, communicate clearly, know who is who, and make sure Lighthouse isn’t dependent on any single platform like Discord. This connection also makes it easier for staff to manage everyone's accounts, make promotions, and to track users across multiple alts.

If you haven’t connected there yet, now’s a good time!

Second, we want to keep building trust—especially with parents and families.

Lighthouse isn’t just a server. It’s a community that people are trusting with their time, their conversations, and in many cases, their kids.

So we’re taking steps to become more structured and established as an organization, and making it easier for people to understand how Lighthouse works and how to reach us if they need to.

We have added a new Parent Portal that allows parents to track and manage their child's accounts, and be kept in the loop if anything happens involving their children.

And third, we’re starting to look outward.

Up to this point, most people have found Lighthouse through friends and word of mouth. That’s been great—but we want to be more intentional about reaching people and sharing what this community is about.

We are going to be trying to form alliances with other Christian gaming communities, or possibly even with church youth groups, and this blog, which we hope that you'll share on your social media accounts!

Introducing Community Questions!

We’re starting something new called Community Questions.

Every couple of weeks, we’ll post a question for the community to respond to on the Dashboard.

Sometimes they’ll be fun, sometimes more thoughtful—but the goal is the same: to give people a chance to share, connect, and be part of what Lighthouse is becoming, and sharing your thoughts about what has made Lighthouse special to you.

So here’s the first Community Question:

What brought you to Lighthouse… and what made you stick around?

If you’re part of the community, we’d really encourage you to take a few minutes and answer that.

  1. Login to the website
  2. Go to the Dashboard
  3. Give your answer in the Community Question section

A moderator will review your question and approve it to make it public. Then you can check out Other Community Stories.

Your story matters more than you probably think.

This next season of Lighthouse is about building on what we’ve already started.

  1. Getting connected.
  2. Building trust.
  3. And beginning to reach outward.

We’re excited about what’s ahead.

And we’re glad you’re part of it.
